Course Objectives The aim of this course is to teach basic microbiological concepts and principles to the students.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • will be able to explain the importance of microorganisms
  • will be able to specify prokaryotic cell structure
  • will be able to describe the importance of controlling microorganisms
  • will be able to express industrial and ecologically significant groups of microorganisms and their biotechnological importance
  • will be able to describe energy production mechanisms in prokaryotic cells
Course Description This course covers microbiological entry, prokaryotic cell biology, microbial nutrition, metabolism of microorganisms, physical needs of microorganisms, control of microorganisms, examination of some biotechnologically important bacteria and archea groups.
